A challenging next step for an entrepreneurial leisure professional with a proven track record of enabling revenue growth and business performance, who wants to become the CEO of a leading group of leisure hotels (4-Star+) in Austria, which is headquartered near Innsbruck.
OUR CLIENT:
Over the past 15 years, VAYA Resorts has established itself as the market leader in Austria's leisure hotel sector, specializing in 4-star+ services across the premier mountain resorts in Tirol. Known for providing a first-class holiday experience, combining high-quality design with exceptional cuisine and guest services, to offer outstanding living comfort. Vaya currently operates 16 leisure and 5 residential hotels, totalling to over 1,400 rooms and 4,000 beds, and employs about 150 permanent staff, with an additional 500 seasonal employees during peak periods. All operations are managed locally, the shared functions are centralized in headquarters, and the operational revenues for next year are expected to reach a €100 million in total for the next year.
CEO VAYA RESORTS - INNSBRUCK/TIROL
VACANCY:
The Dutch owner of VAYA Resorts is now recruiting for a highly entrepreneurial leisure professional, succeed the current CEO, the successor, to lead the company in achieving its ambition. Which is to further develop and sustain its market leading position being the largest and most valued hotel group for ‘fine living and luxury stays in the nicest vacation areas’ of Austria, as perceived by all its guests, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

To outline a shared vision, mission and strategy, while setting clear priorities, stretching objectives, creating ‘buy in’ and enabling your teams to successfully make VAYA’s ambitions happen.

To increase VAYA’s ‘top line’ results by further improving all related marketing, sales and revenue management effort and processes, on both group and hotel levels throughout the year.

To improve VAYA’s operational performance and ‘bottom line’ results by aligning, innovating and digitalising related effort and processes, while maintaining its market leading position on 4-star services and guest experience.

To foster a more entrepreneurial mindset throughout the organisation, which leads to a seamlessly aligned cooperation, further increase of employee engagement and becoming one the most attractive employers in the Austrian leisure industry.

To monitor, control and report business performance, taking supportive or corrective action when necessary and assuring full compliance with governance policies and regulatory requirements.
POSITION:
In this role you’ll be heading the Leadership Team, which consists of the CFO, the Regional Hotel Managers and all other Department Heads. And you report to the majority shareholder, who is actively involved and based in The Netherlands.

You are an entrepreneurial minded business leader, who really knows how to drive the company’s growth forward. You know how to think ‘outside the box’ to improve overall performance and capitalise on commercial opportunities. You set clear and stretching objectives, and know how to empower your teams to really meet these. You regularly exceed your stakeholders’ expectations, in increasing business revenues, operational efficiency, employee engagement, team performance and shareholder value. You thrive in a highly competitive, multi-cultural, service-oriented environment, focused on high valued guest experience. Additionally, you possess a high degree of ‘online savviness’ with a strong belief in innovation by platform based digitalization, to further improve marketing, sales, hotel operations and guest service delivery.
OTHER SELECTION CRITERIA:
You have at least 15 years of relevant experience in the leisure or closely related industry. With a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role withing a similarly large operation that also achieved market leading status, by doing business smarter, more efficient and highly digitalised. Experience in a privately held company, particularly reporting to a Dutch non-executive and highly involved owner, is a significant plus. A commitment to working daily at the VAYA headquarters, including relocation if needed, is also required.
